  Does the GB really care if the organization collapses?

  i am sure that the gb does not care about the r&f jw.

  it does not care about the organization collapsing overnight.. why do i say this?.

  in 2013 the organization declared that the "faithful and discreet slave" consisted only of the seven member of the gb.

  You are right, but you have to admit they appear to be getting desperate.

  Closing branches, reducing printing, selling all in NY, taking away everything from the congregations, there is definitely an agenda with all this.
  

  Great how they are now building their geriatric retirement palace.

  I think almost every JW believes/believed at some time that it is God's channel, otherwise they would not have been baptized.
  You are right cults are not that easy to define. Certainly before the introduction of the Slave being the GB, what I postulated could not be true, but this situation has only been apparent for about two years. The GB are not dumb, they know what they are doing.

  • The Watchtower, December 15, 1950, p. 500: "Already during the Hitler regime about 1,000 Jehovah's witnesses were executed as traitors, because they not only refused to serve in the war but openly opposed Hitler's authority. Another 1,000 of Jehovah's witnesses died in prisons and concentration camps.

  
  

  This is a very interesting statement. This clearly shows that JWs were not neutral at the time. The GB wants us to believe that the witnesses suffered because of their christian neutrality, when clearly the watchtower admits they were not neutral. They were not neutral because the organization coerced them into protesting against the regime. Only speculation, but if JWs were really neutral at the time I am sure that many would not have been incarcerated, and certainly fewer would have been killed. The Watchtower has the blood of these men and women on their hands, and they know it.

  Why do I say this?

  In 2013 the organization declared that the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" consisted only of the seven member of the GB. This was declared as new light.

  We all know from Watchtower Doctrine that all the theocratic material possessions on earth are there to be administered by the Faithful and Discreet Slave, now consisting of just seven men.

  After taking over all property and extra cash from all congregations on the whole planet, which amounts to at the very least US$ 50 billion, they are in a great position if every one leaves, they can just share the cash between themselves.

  But so long as more cash is coming in than going out, they will continue to try and coerce even more money from the members. This should increase over the coming years, maybe they introduce tithing.
  All in all they do not care. When I watch the videos on JW Broadcasting, I do not see one single bit of sincerity, when one of the GB members speaks.

  although the organization has made a very short announcement on their website concerning this, it will be interesting to see to what extent their "relief efforts" amount to.. lets remember that nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and need every bit of help they can get.

  just being concerned about the houses and the local office of jws in nepal is hardly showing christian love..

  The shift: from follower to wanting to leave

  this week has been the week when my whole way of thinking shifted.

  i still cannot believe how this can happen so fast.

  over a period of seven days i went from not even imagining that i could ever not be a witness to wanting to get out of this organisation.. .

  I am a fader and recently I had a discussion with someone in the congregation I considered to be a friend, and as many on here have realized there are no real friends with JWs, its all conditional.

  Basically the brother said I should be honest and open to the organization and send a letter saying that I no longer wish to be a JW. I pointed out the the organization lies, cheats and uses undue influence on all its members to keep them under control, but I should be open and honest.
  

  No way.
  The organization/elders do not need to know.
  Keep them guessing.
  If you do not attend meetings or go in the ministry, but do not actively oppose the organization they can do nothing to you. That means that if you meet a witness on the street he/she will talk to you.
  On no accounts allow two elders to visit you and question you about your beliefs, they are just looking for a way to denounce you, and they will.
  They did it to me, before I started to fade, it was a very simple thing. I always said no to resolutions and they sent two elders to investigate. Altrough I had on three separate occasions to three different elders explained that to simply announce a resolution to the congregation out of the blue and not give the members any chance to think about it and to ask questions was not christian (2 minute question time before the resolution is not sufficient).

  To get me to agree to the visit, they lied and fabricated some excuse.
  Thereafter I accused them of using Gestapo tactics, and as I live in Germany this hit them very hard, but they could not deny that the tactics were Gestapo like. I.e. not being honest about the visit, sending two and then questioning me.

  So the advice that you have already received here is great, do nothing, do not play into their hands.
  Doing that you can be completely honest.

  Why JW marriage is a huge problem for the organization.

  the difficulty of finding a marriage mate is well known for sisters.

  but i would say it's hard for brothers also.

  There are more sisters than brothers in the organization. This is probable due to the fact that men are more analytic than women are, and can more quickly overcome cognitive dissonance that a woman. The indoctrination seems to be more effective against women that against men. I am not putting women down here because they do deserve a great deal of respect, something which they do not receive within the JW organization.
  

  Let us all remember that every JW, even the sisters have been cheated and lied to by the JW organization.

  I had an experience about 25 years ago, when I was new in the truth and in the pioneer service attending the pioneer school.

  All the pioneers attending the school were invited to visit a family one evening about 2 hours after the days indoctrination session. So I set off from my accommodation with three other pioneers. I was driving, and I lost my way, which was unusual for me, I looked at the map (no navs in those days) and set off again. I lost my way a second time and a third time. When I stopped after the third time I was not far off from my destination and one of the pioneers said there is sister ***, she crossed the street and got into the car, and said that I should drive on. She then explained that she was being stalked by a guy in a van who had already made verbal sexual suggestions, she prayed to Jehovah and just at that moment I turned up on the scene, and saved her, so this experience can be attributed to one of three things:

  a) angelic direction
  b) demonic direction

  c) coincidence
  

  Now at the time and until my fade I attribute this to "a", now I tend more towards "b", but undoubtedly its "c".
